Charles has two bachelor's degrees from the University of Virginia, where he was previously an Elzinga Scholar and a researching member of both the Pate Group and the Gaultier Lab.

Charles also serves as a Director with Nucleate, a biotechnology venture accelerator in the extended Harvard and MIT ecosystem, helping scientists translate promising research into ventures. When Charles is not at his desk he enjoys being with his family and skiing.
